So... suggestions concerning doll tables?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm already on a "rotating display" type schedule with displays changing every month. I currently also have 3 of the Scenes and Settings (Felicity's, Addy's, and Kirsten's) and plan to at least add Sam's. I have two large spaces to display per month that will fit a scenes book and some furniture. The rest is in a closet. I have a few smaller display areas on shelves that can display the smaller furniture and/or a doll- like one chair and a doll, or a desk and a doll. And I'm running out of room in the closet. Oh, dear.

I think I'll probably keep it at four tables and chairs, which I still feel is a LOT. I'm mostly debating whether to buy Addy's chairs and keep that table, or not. I keep thinking... will the addition of two more chairs take up THAT much space? But on the other hand wouldn't Kirsten's table work for Addy?

I currently have the sleigh out as well and have NO idea where it'll go when it gets put away. At least tables and chairs are relatively stackable, and Lissie's tilts, which helps with storage since her chairs don't stack.

Only one solution- to entice DH to hurry up and build me that doll cabinet I've been asking him for all year! [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]

I'm in a dilemma. I currently already have three sets of doll tables/chairs: Kirsten's, Felicity's, and an antique table (you can see it in my Lissie album in my sig. if you're curious). I was planning to get Addy's chairs to go with the antique table for Addy.

Here's the problem. I have Samantha, am ordering Josefina in the next couple weeks, and plan to get Kit still. I MUST have Josefina's table and chairs. I adore the detailing- they are perhaps my favorite set. I'm beginning to run into a space issue here. Even if I pass on Sam's and Kit's and just display their stuff some other way, that's still FOUR sets of tables and chairs!!!

Should I get rid of my antique table and not buy Addy's chairs? But then would Addy's birthday stuff look wierd displayed on Kirsten's table? Kirsten's table is actually my least favorite of the four, but I'm keeping it because Kirsten was my childhood collection and is my only collection I will complete.

I plan to display Samantha's birthday stuff on Felicity's table and make small slipcovers for the chairs to make them more victorian. Grandmary could have had some old family heirlooms, right?

And what about Kit's stuff? What table should I use to display her birthday stuff?

You see my dilemma- I'm going nuts planning my birthday displays! I'm running out of space and I need to limit my furniture collections. I already have all of Kirsten's furniture, all of Felicity's except the night table (including a repro clothes press), and Addy's double desk, plus the antique table and a salesman sample wood stove. I plan to add (minimally) all of Josefina's furniture (except maybe her bed) and night stands for each of the dolls. And I still love Sam's desk, Kit's desk, and Kit's bedroom furniture.

Suggestions, anyone? (And please don't say move to a bigger house- LOL!) The dolls are taking over! [img]redface.gif[/img]

Here's an idea
Go ahead and get the set. But you don't have to display all at once. You can rotate them like once a month or when ever you feel like. That way you only display whay you have room for. I know it's a hard discision! Which ones to display and which ones to store away! Oh the difficulties!

That is a dilemma. I am running into space issues myself. That is why I decided to sell some of my playmobil collection.

I have Kit's table and I love it. I know that doesn't help because that would be adding another table/chairs set. I am planning on getting Felicity's and Josefina's tables/chairs also. Maybe later this year, I will get Molly's. But that is it for me. I cannot add any more big furniture.

I would suggest keeping only the tables that you really like regardless of the party treats or foods that you have. I am planning on getting all the party treats and lunches but I won't be able to get all the tables. I will just try to switch them out once in a while. I am going to display the Felicity's, Addy's and Kristen's foods on Felicity's table since I think that is the most neutral one. Kit's table will display Kit's and Molly's foods. Josefina's table will only display Josefina's food.

I would love to be able to collect everything but my wallet and house are not that big. [img]smile.gif[/img]
